New Zealand inventor Allan Hodgkinson (Master Plumber) has perfected a low-cost solar home heating system. The Floor*Store™ solar home heating system was first developed in 1985 and is now being installed in new homes all over New Zealand. We have installed over 150 Floor*Store™ systems and demand for the Floor*Store™ system is increasing due to the running costs of other heating systems.
Having initially piped solar-heated fluid through a network of pipes laid under the floor of the living areas in his own home in 1985, Allan has developed an effective solar home heating system that generally provides background heating without overheating the house during summer.
Allan's Floor*Store™ solar heating system has received much praise by home owners and the building industry at large including winner of the New Zealand Best Efficiency award, 2001 and runner up to the New Zealand House of the Year, 2001.
